2020 Parker School Kahiau Fundraiser

The 15th annual 2020 Parker School Kahiau fund raising event is being held on Saturday, February 8th this year at the Fairmont Orchid. The attendees will first enjoy drinks, conversation and perusal of the silent action offerings at the Kilohana Room followed by an incredible dinner on the lawn of the Plantation Estates of the Fairmont Orchid. We attended in 2018 and were serenaded by the Parker School choir and also enjoyed hearing from one of the students that expressed his thanks for being granted a scholarship to Parker which as he explained it, “changed his life forever” for many reasons. His sharing was humorous and did illustrate the direct relationship between scholarship gifts from our community and lives changed in a positive manner. The scholarship fund raising, live auction raised $120k from event attendees including several $20,000.00 donations. 50% of Parker School’s students are scholarship recipients illustrating the need for community fund raising involvement. I can not think of a better way to give back to those less fortunate than myself in a time the world remembers God’s ultimate gift. Please read on for opportunities to support this special organization. Contact Mary Spears directly as she is the Secret Santa coordinator for Hawaii Island and will forward to you the details regarding gifts and donations, maryannspears@earthlink.net. Feel the love of saving a homeless child today! We are gearing up to provide over 350 homeless children with holiday cheer. From their visit with Santa, special gifts, a wholesome meal, games with useful prizes and take and make crafts. Children will also receive their Christmas stocking and a hygiene ba...

We were guests of the Broadbent and Satterthwaite families and very much enjoyed the company all others seated at our table which included a Parker School graduate from 2004! It was a beautiful Saturday evening with 300+ attendees first enjoying drinks, conversation and perusal of the silent action offerings at the Kilohana Room followed by an incredible dinner on the lawn of the Plantation Estates of the Fairmont Orchid. We were serenaded by the Parker School choir and also enjoyed hearing from one of the students that expressed his thanks for being granted a scholarship to Parker which as he explained it, “changed his life forever” for many reasons.
